Imaging systems with Symantec Norton Ghost, PowerQuest Drive Image, True Image, and others. Understand the full process of using Microsoft’s newest imaging utilities – RIS. Implement backups and restores and deployments of various operating systems from Windows 98 to XP and compare results. You will do the following with your own hands:

1.      Image a windows 98 & XP computer using Norton Ghost

2.      Image a windows NT Server using PowerQuest Drive Image

3.      Restore a pre-made drive image backup of one machine onto another.

4.      Use RIS to create a full image of a customized workstation and then

5.      Deploy a customized image to 2 workstations which are formatted

TOPIC 12: HAND HELDS PALM, IPAQ, BLACKBERRY

Personally install and setup both a PALM PILOT AND an HP/Compaq IPAQ. Each tech shall have one of these in hand and configure it themselves. Configure synchronization with outlook as well as load various optional software onto the hand-helds. Understand what a user does with these. You will do the following with your own hands:

1.      Setup a Palm Pilot from scratch

2.      Setup a Compaq/HP IPAQ hand-held from scratch.

3.      Connect both to a computer and synchronize data from outlook to hand-held, and vice-a-versa

4.      Troubleshoot connectivity problems and communication issues with hand-held cradle and windows

5.      Understand how a user uses his/her hand-held, and see why this is so important to a user

6.      Backup and restore data from a hand-held

7.      Install additional/Optional programs to increase functionality of hand-helds
